“DEPLOYMENT_NOT_FOUND”
Vercel shows "404: NOT_FOUND" with this code when the address reached Vercel but there's no deployment to show for it. Either the domain isn't attached to a project with a working deployment, or the deployment it pointed to was deleted.
Is your site showing it right now?
The free scan loads your page like a visitor and checks for this message, plus broken links, script errors and phone layout. It also walks your signup, booking or contact form, without sending anything.
Free, no signup. Usually done in about a minute. Why it happens
- The domain was removed from the project, or added to a different project
- The project, or the deployment the address belonged to, was deleted
- The latest production deployment failed, so there's nothing to serve
- A link points to an old preview address that no longer exists
How to fix it
Check the project's domains
In the Vercel dashboard, open the project, Settings, Domains. Add the domain if it's missing, and remove it from any other project that claims it.
Make sure there's a working production deployment
On the project's Deployments page, the newest Production deployment should be Ready. If it failed, open it to read the build log, fix the error and redeploy, or promote the last good deployment.
Check the DNS points at Vercel
The domain should have the records Vercel shows on the Domains page (an A record for the root, a CNAME for www). A domain that points elsewhere won't reach this project.
Update old preview links
Preview addresses go away with their deployments. Replace links to them with the production domain.
Questions
Why does my vercel.app address work but my domain doesn't?
The deployment exists, but the domain isn't attached to the project. Add it under Settings, Domains.
Is my code lost?
No. Your code is in your Git repository; redeploying from it brings the site back.
Can Page Canary tell me if this comes back?
Yes. Page Canary checks your key pages every day for this message and others like it, confirms it on a second check, and emails you with the fix. One site is free.
